The Texas Independence Bike Tour is a one-day event bringing cyclists from the Houston area together to tour the San Jacinto Battleground and adjacent communities raising funds to support the Deer Park Rotary Club Scholarship Program while promoting the local area.

Join us and hundreds of other bicycle and fitness enthusiasts as we tour the birth place of Texas while raising money for local scholarships and community assistance programs. Our ride starts in the heart of Deer Park and takes riders through the city and other local communities as we visit historic areas and local industry. As the ride takes a turn to the final leg of the tour we will ride through the historic San Jacinto State Park where the battle for Texas independence was won a new nation was born. With break points offered every 12-15 miles there is plenty of support for all levels of riders, and our last break will include a photo opportunity in front of the San Jacinto Monument. The ride concludes back at Abshire Stadium in Deer Park where will the Rotary Club of Deer Park and other local sponosors greet you with gratitude and a well deserved lunch. Showers will be made available at Deer Park High School for those looking to clean up before a ride home. We look forward to riding with you!

The Deer Park Rotary Club is hosting the first of what will become an annual charity bike ride March 27. For more than 40 years, the club has lived by its mantra of “Service Above Self” by assisting area charities and addressing community needs.

What’s in it for you?

The inaugural Texas independence Bicycle Tour will bring nearly 1,000 bicycle riders to the area. They will spend their money here over the weekend, culminating in the ride on March 27. We are expecting riders from all over houston and some out-of-state riders who will ride their choice of a 30-, 45- or 60-mile ride through Southeast harris County. By sponsoring the event, your business will be exposed to them, their supporters and the hundreds of volunteers scheduled to participate. Your business also has a lucrative opportunity to receive publicity through local media coverage.
